So...when we had marriage counselling and all that stuff, someone must have omitted to explain something very important.
So, hey presto...we're having a baby - how wild is that!
We're 12 weeks along and had the first scan a couple of weeks ago - things are all looking good and our little 'alien like' Anderson (see 12 week photo) has a 170 beats a minute heartbeat.
Thankfully, Marnie hasn't been very sick, though has been having headaches and back pain which we're not sure if is pregnancy related or not. She has cut back in her hours at the gym slightly as she gets tired easily too.
Estimated time of arrival is end of Feb 2007 so we have a bit of time to get things ready. Mark is slowly being educated on things baby...like the fact that the baby needs a room to itself! (A cot in the corner of the computer room is apparently not sufficient!)
Watch this space for further progeny related updates.
In other news, Mark's work at the Police is going on...still a bit unsure about whether it's really me or not - the shift work is hard for us both, particularly with a baby on the way and all!
That's all for now from the Andersons

Hey, that is thrilling news. Babies are a definite gift from God. Where would we all be without them? I wish we had had more. My daughter Rebecca is going to have one about the same time, maybe middle of Feb. Many congrats are on the way.
But really, I'm sure you knew that could happen. Even in Afg. the word got around.
Much love, many prayers.
John
Yay for babies! They say usually girls have the fast heartbeats, but Ilan's was usually in the 160 range. Do you have a preference? Just wait till the 18-22 wk sonogram. It's breathtaking!!!
How EXCITING!! And as I see my dad ruined my surprise (thanks dad) you know that we are pregnant twins:) I am at 12 weeks as well and am due Feb. 26th. How funny is that?! You two are going to be such great parents with your devotion to God, each other and your relaxed personalities. It's great fun!
Love ya,
rebecca

Hey guys, this is great news! We are joyful with you, and we are thankful that this precious new life will be born into a God-centered home. I guess you'll have to postpone your trip to come see us in Istanbul. :-)
BTW, I also loved all the photos of your S Island tour.
With joy and love, Eric & Ellen
YAY! Marnie & Mark, I'm so excited for you guys! It's always fun to see how God chooses some couples to receive His little blessings early in marriage. I love it! I hope you're feeling well, Marnie, and we will eagerly await updates on this new little life.
That's the cutest little alien I've ever seen. :-)
Congratulations!
I love your blog--it makes you feel closer and it's so wonderful to get a peek at your life.
Love you,
Bonnie
SHE is almost as good looking as her Nana!
