Being a mommy means I have had to give up a lot of things. Most I am fine with, one of the hardest, however, has been my coffee. Being a good NW girl, I love a good cup of coffee. Laila and her reflux just can't handle it so its had to go. I have found various ways to combat my urge for a cuppa....tea, hot chocolate, hot water, decaf, I've even resorted to chewing gum (now I sound like a serious addict)! Today has been a rough one, and they day isn't even half over. It's noon and I still haven't been able to take a shower, Laila has been crying most of the morning, she won't sleep, and decides to poo as soon as I put her in a clean diaper (that's happened twice already). I could keep going about the state of my house but for my own well being, I'll stop there. I have been battling my need to sit down with a mug all morning and just can't fight it anymore. I've tried all my normal distractions but the green tea isn't doing it for me. It's one of those days where I've got to do what I've got to do to keep my sanity. With great anticipation, and absolutely no guilt, I made myself a big ole cup of Joe...and am savoring every little drop! It is well worth it, it's cold and rainy outside so I'll just bunker down at home and wait for the consequences of my short lived delight and count down the hours till Mark comes home. Only 6 more to go!

Oh, Marnie. You sound a little fried. I'd love to come over and help. Problem is that you fled the country. Plus, if you read my blog for today you'll see that you probably wouldn't want any Ws at your house anyway.
I think you probably needed a little bit of chocolate with that cup of joe. You're right, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Love ya!
I think you've earned that cup of coffee. Enjoy!
All right! God for the Jo!
Love ya,
Bonnie
PS How did Laila handle the caffeine?
