Oh how life has changed!

Hi, I'd like to introduce myself to you all. My name is Laila and I'm now 5 days old. I was born on the 21st of Feb at 11:14 PM and weighed 7 lbs 5 oz. Mommy started going into labor with me that morning, but spent the day wondering if it was the real thing or if it was just her bowels (she's not very smart). It was the real thing, and after dinner time contractions went from 20 mins apart to 3 mins apart very quickly. Daddy called the midwife when mom said he'd better do it or else I was going to be born on the bedroom floor. The midwife came over to check me out and told my parents it's time to go to the hospital. Her last words to mommy were 'don't push', and to daddy, 'don't stop for anything'. Daddy did have to stop for something because a police man thought he was going too fast. We all think it was very funny, just like in the movies. I was born about 40 minutes after we got to the hospial. Mommy didn't have any time for drugs and sure didn't like it when people touched her...she yelled at them. I think she just wanted to see me.

I am a very happy baby, except when I'm hungry or my tummy hurts, then I cry. I usually sleep in 4 hour spurts and mommy sometimes has to wake me up to feed me. Mommy and daddy love me very much and think I'm really cute, they are blessed to have me and I pray they do a really good job as I grow up and learn to be a big girl who loves God. I will keep you all posted as I grow up, bye for now.
