uh oh...it's starting, the doc says so

We took another trip into the doctor this morning since Laila has decided again she doesn't want to eat. She was hungry but as soon as she swallowed she would start crying and hit the spoon away (yeah cereal all over the curtains), I took her in just to make sure she wasn't still having issues with her sore throat. The Doc took a look at her throat, and although it's not still infected she does have a bit of thrush. I thought, "good, we have that sorted we'll get some medicine and all will be normal again". The doctor then looked at me and said, in her very strong Russian accent, "now, in my opinion, her thrush isn't very bad and it looks like you are dealing more with a behavioral issue". I asked for clarification, and she told me that Laila's eating problem probably lies more in the fact that she could be strong willed and stubborn! I couldn't believe it, almost 9 months and we are already diagnosed with having behavioural issues! Laila is a very sweet and loving baby, and I don't take the docs comments too much to heart, but she does have a stubborn streak...I guess in this family you better or you won't survive. It's going to be a long 18 years I recon.

I supposed Laila comes by it honestly.

But I think it's a little early for psychoanalysis.

Oh what do they know. I don't know any baby, including my 9 month old, who doesn't grab the spoon and want to fling it somewhere other than their mouth. It is called "learning cause and effect" not being stubborn. You're right, Laila is a little sweetie and she is just discovering new things in the world, who has time to eat?!
