surprise guys, I can walk

Laila surprised us this past weekend. We were at a friend's house and she was standing with Mark and turned around and walked straight to me. We couldn't believe it, we didn't think she was anywhere near walking. Her main mode of transport is still crawling but she's almost there, then a whole new world awaits us....like hospital visits, already we've had a split eye from falling into the coffee table not to mention the speckled bruised forehead. It's hard growing up.

I've also posted some photos from our afternoon in the sun. Laila can get a bit grumpy in the afternoons and today the only thing that seemed to keep her happy was to take all her clothes and nappy off, put her ducky bath outide, give her a cookie which of course got put in the bath and fill the bath with clothes pins, one of her favorite toys.

Yay for Laila! It's so fun to watch them learn and grow. They suddenly grow up so much when they learn how to walk, huh? From baby to little girl overnight.

Wait to Go, little girl! Be careful on steps and such and watch out for sharp corners! I can't wait to hold your hand and walk with you. Love you sweetie.

Ahhh. It looks like little Laila's got her mommy's short legs--cute.

And congratulations, Laila--walking is a BIG DEAL, just keep moving gal.

Love you,

Auntie Bonnie

Don't you just love the way they first walk, with that stiff legged gait, arms out for balance, and a huge grin that says "Aren't I clever"? It never fails to make me watery eyed. We played the video clip 5 times over!

Hey Marnie! Can you believe our little ones are one year olds now?!
These pictures bring back memories of Nik at this age. He loved going in the same ducky tub, outside, naked and with his blanket. Made him happy everytime. Weirdos, thats all..
